This is my first Lee Piper book. As You Were is book 2 in her Rising Star series. I enjoyed the fact that it can be read as a standalone and having no knowledge of previous characters didn’t have wondering.

This book is a slow-burn romance between Willow who is the lead guitarist in her group and Zeke the world renowned music producer. I think Willow’s character development was great as the book was in her perspective. As much as I loved Zeke’s alpha male character I found it hard connecting to him. His backstory was given in one scene and it made him more likeable but I wish I had more insight as to what was going through his mind.

Their chemistry was off the charts. The sex scenes were hot and steamy. I did enjoy the push/pull these two had going because when they finally gave in it was scorching.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and will read the rest of the series. I won an arc and am providing my honest review. If you are looking for an alpha male and sexy story this book is for you.
